Clare and Arun – Wedding Photography at The Little Theatre, Bath

Clare’s taste and styling are impeccable. I loved that she chose bold bright jewel colours in shades of purple, hot pink and teal with fabulous gold sequinned boleros and gold glittered high heels. She wanted to incorporate colours from Arun’s Indian heritage and have lots of fun with the colour palette for their big day. The boys wore informal outfits of sand chinos, blue blazers and striped ties matched with a pink rose buttonhole. The perfect outfits for a relaxed afternoon wedding in bath.

Clare chose not to have getting ready shots in the morning so she could enjoy herself with her parents and bridesmaids, so I started the day at the lovely Little Theatre in Bath City centre with Arun and his groomsmen. Guests arrived nice and early but didn’t choose to sped a huge amount of time outside as they were excited to take their seats in the adorable cinema ready for Clare’s arrival. I loved the attention to detail, guests presented traditionally dressed usherettes with their ‘tickets’ and they then watched a 10 minute Disney short called Paperman while they waited for the bride. After a ceremony with two lovely personal readings the bride and groom headed back down the aisle and were showered with confetti form the balcony above. The perfect nibbles for a cinema wedding were served straight after the ceremony. Popcorn in kitsch boxes went down a treat and was accompanied by individual bottles of prosecco topped with straws with wedding slogans. During the afternoon reception guests were entertained by Voodoo Zoot a vintage styled music machine who played swing music throughout the afternoon.

After many a hug and kiss guests threw some confetti and we navigated the crowds of bank holiday shoppers to capture large group shots from the balcony just outside the theatre. The timing of poor weather couldn’t have been better, having captured the majority of large group shots I was left with just a small handful of immediate family and bridal party pictures to complete under the conveniently placed pillars outside the Cross Baths. The majority of these guests then headed to Komedia just a few hundred yards away where they gathered for more drinks before they were due to head into the wedding breakfast.

Once the guests had left us to head to Komedia we used a few spots in the immediate area to capture some images of the newlyweds. Bath is such a beautiful city, we only had to turn 360 degrees to find lots of different backdrops that worked brilliantly to create a range of pictures of the Happy Couple. I headed off just as the guests arrived at Komedia but not before I’d taken a couple of shots of the wedding breakfast room setup and looking spectacular. The great thing about an entertainment venue for the reception is that they will have a range of lighting to enhance the look you are going for. Mr and Mrs Oram used this to their advantage and bright purple and pink colour gels over the lights paired with brightly coloured tablecloths (a simple and inexpensive way to make a huge impact with block colour) worked brilliantly. They had also hired huge Mr and Mrs lights that I’m sure would have added a great focus point to the evening celebrations.

Such a great afternoon with lovely people. Here small sneak preview of their wedding day from Sunday 24th May 2015. Like the Interlace Photography Facebook Page to be updated when the rest of their images are online.
