Clare and Arun – Pre-Wedding Shoot in Wells

Clare and Arun live in London and hadn’t had an opportunity to meet me in person since booking their wedding photography so decided that a pre-wedding shoot in Wells (Where Clare’s parents live) would mean we could get to know one another while creating some nice images.

Now Arun will be the first to tell you that he really doesn’t like his photo being taken, and he isn’t alone. So many couples feel daunted by the fact that they have to interact with a camera when they dislike photos of themselves. However a pre-wedding shoot is a great way to get to know me and make sure you feel as relaxed as you can be for the big day itself. I’m not saying you will love the camera after a portrait session but a few tips and just seeing how I work can really alleviate the pressure. I could see Arun visibly relaxing during the session and I hope he thinks it was worth it.

Clare and Arun arrived beautifully coordinated in mustard and navy. (A suggestion that was initially subtly hinted by Clare when they discussed outfits and luckily Arun read some subliminal signals and chose to wear his yellow jumper on the day.)

I love Wells for a photoshoot. There are so many opportunities for lovely shots no matter what the weather, and with the cathedral as a backdrop (we used it for close up shots) There are wonderfully warm textures with the stone, as well as the grassy areas near the bandstand (I haven’t included the shots here, but we also incorporated daffodils to show off the time of year)

Slightly enamoured by Clare’s gorgeous ring. I’m totally with her when she said she ‘needed’ a big ring (she was referring to her hands at the time, but I know what she meant, every girl needs a few big rocks!) Very much looking forward to their Big Day that is taking place in Bath on Sunday.
