St Andew’s Banwell, Batch Country House Wedding

It’s very hard to take a vicar wearing a paper Miss Millie’s hat seriously. But Matthew, the vicar at St Andrew’s Church in Banwell, seemed to pull it off! As the owner of Miss Millie’s in Weston-Super-Mare Kerrie was wearing some very subtle chicken socks on the day of his wedding and joined in with his groomsmen and wore the paper hats when requested during the service. I do love it when a vicar really gets to know the couple they are marrying. Matthew knew all about their love of the USA, careers and the things that mattered most to the newlyweds and presented personal gifts to them as the new Mr and Mrs Sleeman.  St Andrew’s Church was the only choice for Claire when Kerrie popped the question. Both her grandparents and parents were married in the church and there was even a specific photo that the bride wanted recreating by one of the trees in the grounds. Wonderful to carry on the tradition and you never know, Kerrie may well be walking their daughter down the same aisle in years to come! After confetti and a couple of the more traditional groups at the church we all headed off the Batch Country House hotel. One of my current favourite venues, with stunning grounds and the feel of being in the middle of nowhere while in reality just a short drive from Weston. Claire and Kerrie had booked an ice-cream trike to greet the guests on arrival at Batch to keep them occupied while the happy couple had their wedding portraits taken. Kerrie and Claire had their pre-wedding shoot also at Batch so had plenty of ideas for where they most liked their photo to be taken. We then captured the group shots before receiving line in the Ivory Suite. A delicious 3 course wedding breakfast was followed by speeches introduced by toastmaster Dave. The evening was kicked off with first dance, sweet cart and photobooth to entertain the guests. This was one of my favourite weddings of the year so far and I loved being a part of it. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Sleeman!
